About
Me:
Well, I guess it all started when my dad met my mom and got together
and... *kaboom*... I burst into the scene like a hot dinner roll straight
out of the oven. I was born in the tiny country of El Salvador on a windy
night in October in the capital
city of San Salvador. Here I spent about 4 of my 24 years on this planet.
My family moved to Costa Rica when I was around 2 or 3 and lived there
for a couple of years. What I remember about it was that it rained constantly
in the afternoons. Great place though. After living in El Salvador and
Costa Rica we moved, yet again, to the U.S. in 1986. We arrived in California,
more specifically Orange County, and really enjoyed it. The best
thing about living in Southern California was that the beach, the desert
and the snow were all within an hour`s drive. We moved to South Florida
in 1989 and settled in the city of Hollywood which is sandwiched between
Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. There I went to middle school at Olsen Middle
School and afterwards went to South Broward High School. I had an awesome
time living in Hollywood because we were so close to the beach and had
awesome weather year round. It was great living in Florida, but at times
the heat was unbearable, but the
funny thing is that living in Northern Virginia I miss that a lot. We
had to move again after my Junior year in high school to Falls Church
in Northern Virginia and I had to complete high school at George C. Marshall
High School. It was really tough leaving my friends in Florida but I had
no choice but to follow my family up
north. I now live in the beautiful city of Reston, Virginia, which is
located about 25 minutes west of Washington, DC. I went to George
Mason University in Northern Virginia and graduated with a degree
in Government and International Politics with a minor in Information Technology.
I currently work for the Council
for Court Excellence in Washington, DC, a non-profit organization
which works to improve the administration of justice in the courts of
Washington, DC. It is an organization that was founded in 1982 and it
is full of great people. If you want to know more about the organization,
visit the website or if you would like to know more about what I do, e-mail
me at the office.
Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.):
1) Why do you have a site in the first place? Well,
I think that my life is interesting enough to have a website. I am no
narcissist, but if you have made it this far, you agree with me ;-).
2) Why have you moved so much? Hmm... good question,
I don't even know myself. Well, I guess it is because my parents have
always wanted to give my borther and I a better life. We moved from El
Salvador because there was a civil war ravaging the country in the early
80s. My parents did not want my borther and I to live in a war so we moved
to Costa Rica because my father had to finish his studies to become and
architect. After that, we decided to move to the U.S. because it had better
opportunities (duh!). We kept moving because my dad kept finding better
eployment, but then once we moved to the Washington, DC Metro Area, we
decided that this was going to be our last stop. So far, so good, I love
it here, I have lots of friends and this is where I have gone to college.
3) Did you like George Mason University? I loved
it! The school has so much diversity and has great faculty. It's only
been around for something like 50 years and it has quickly grown to be
a very respected schools of the region. This year (2002) one of our faculty
members won the Nobel Prize!
4) Why did you major in Government and International Politics
and minor in Information Technology? Well, I started college
majoring in Biology, but then I came upon my first chemistry class and
I decided that it was not worth my time. I quickly fell in love with politics
after I won the presidency of the Spanish Club at George Mason and also
won a seat in the Student Senate. I minored in IT because I love computers!
5) Are you a Democrat or Republican? I will be very
careful in answering this because I work in DC and it is a small city.
Let's just say that my views tend to be slightly off center to the left.
6) Do you like your job? Yes, I love it very much.
Working at a non-profit is a very rewarding experience because you get
to see results. Working for the Council for Court Excellence, we work
to improve the administration of justice in the local and federal courts.
We do it by: identifying and promoting specific court reforms; improve
access to the courts by the public; and increase the understanding of
our justice system. It is rewarding work!
7) What do you want to do with your life? Well,
what wouldn't I like to do!! I like so many things. I would like to get
my Masters' degree in Political Science, then go to Law School, run for
Congress, be a lawyer, have my own IT company, etc.
8) Are you gay? Believe it or not, I was asked this
by some person. The answer is no. I love girls too much to be looking
at guys. I think women are the most perfect thing ever created by God.
9) How tall are you? I stand 5 feet 11 inches, that's
1.80 meters for you Europeans!
10) What would you like your grave to say? First
foreign-born President of the United States of America. That would be
nice! I can do it way better than Mr. Bush, that I can guarantee it!!!

About the Banner:
What's all the stuff in the banner above? Well, starting from left to
right: a) Nirvana - quite simply the best band ever assembled not named
The Beatles. They are my all-time favorite band, it's a shame Kurt Cobain
took his own life or we'd be talking
about how many Platinum albulms they would have by now and not his suicide;
b) I am in love with sports, I love to play them and watch them. Kobe
Bryant is my favorite basketball player. The other teams I like are the
Los Angeles Dodgers (baseball), San Francisco 49ers (football), and the
Los Angeles Kings (ice hockey). I am also a huge soccer fan! I follow
very closely European
soccer, especially from Spain. My favorite soccer team is F.C.Barcelona,
their motto ("Mes que un club") exemplifies what they mean,
"More than just a Club," they are a way of life; c) These are
just some girls that I think are beautiful, can you make them out? Alyssa
Milano, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jessica Alba, and Jennifer Love-Hewitt.
Yeah, I like brunnettes! d) I love two painters and they both have two
different ways of painting: Vincent Van Gogh and Joan Miró. I used
one of Vincent's self-portraits and a work by Miró, his name is
written on the painting; e) The statue on the banner is called "El
Salvador del Mundo," which means Saviour of the World in Spanish.
It is a very popular statue in El Salvador and it's Jesus standing on
the globe; f) Underneath the statue you can make out "VIP
Club," "Daedalus,"
and "Dream," which are
my favorite clubs here in Washington, DC; g) Finally, you will find three
different personalities. Former President Bill Clinton, which I admire
because of his oratory skills and public speaking, not to mention his
8-year presidency was one of the most fruitful times for the economy.
Yes, he did have his flaws (Lewinsky), but who doesn't? Also, you can
make out a picture of civil rights leader Martin Luther King. He trully
is one of our heroes of
our time. Last but not least, John F. Kennedy, the youngest president
ever elected (43 years old). He is often associated with being a womanizer
and having health problems, but let's not forget that his leadership in
one of the toughest times in American history (the Cuban Missile Crisis)
helped the USA avoid a near probable nuclear confrontation with the former
Soviet Union. That would have been the end of civilization because the
USA and USSR combined had a nuclear arsenal so vast that it would have
destroyed the world more than twenty times over. JFK now rests in peace
at Arlington National Cemetery overlooking Washington, DC in Northern
Virginia.
